Storm clouds & lightening are really dramatic but hard to photograph. To get these images I had my camera on a tripod and set on an ISO of 100 at f/22. I used my 18-135 lens and I left the shutter open for 30 seconds. If I didn’t get a lightning strike during the time the shutter was open, I immediately refocused and opened the shutter again. Since the moon was not visible for me to focus on, I used a street lamp to lock the focus before pointing my lens at the sky. Eventually I got a strike when the shutter was open.
